Introduction to Mandalas as an form of self-expression.
Let's turn the mandala inside out. Learn about the origin and uses of mandalas in different cultures. Become aware of mandalas appearing in nature, architecture, and art. Working with different materials; stones & stencils, patterns & colored pencils, this retreat will be an immersion in all things mandala-complete with designing your own personal mandala and the story that goes with it.
Peace, acceptance and joy in your creative journey are typically a product of the day-and most of the time-a few personal surprises! Gentle encouragement and support are always given if you are feeling stuck or unsure of how to start or finish something we are working on.
No prior artistic experience is needed and all materials will be provided.
Students will gather in the Chapel of Mercy for the afternoon. If you would like to pair an overnight stay with this Mandala workshop, please call the office at 704-539-5449.
