Lands, wilderness and open spaces have always played a vital role in the spiritual development of people the world over. God's creation nourishes life; provides the foundation of ecosystems and human communities; supplies blessing of sustenance like water, timber and minerals; beautifies our environment with a variety of flora, fauna and offers natural space for prayer and spiritual renewal.

Well of Mercy is a sacred space living within the sacred earth community. The boundaries of this community include soils, waters, plants and animals, or collectively; the land. John Muir believed that "through immersion in the natural world, people can achieve spiritual fulfillment and a life of meaning and purpose."

Our workshop will focus on Well's Land Stewardship; the practice of conservation and restoration of its 110 acres. You will learn how connecting with and caring for the land can be a meditative endeavor, and how we can act in ways which contribute to a sustainable future for the Earth. Keven will identify for us the various flora, fauna and animals that inhabit the space we share.

You will learn about the waterways that flow through the Well of Mercy and the dynamics of what is called a "Riparian Corridor". We will demonstrate the intricate relationship between the land and the water, and how to be good stewards of the waterways. Please wear comfortable clothes for outdoors, hiking/walking shoes and bring personal water bottle.

Land Stewards Kevin Campbell, Steve Young and John Zinkievich host this experiential "workshop" and guided hike.
